COOKING THE GNOCCHI
Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a rolling boil. Add a pinch of salt to the water; this enhances the flavor of the gnocchi. Carefully drop the gnocchi into the boiling water. Gnocchi will naturally sink to the bottom of the pot but will rise to the surface as they cook. When they float to the top, it’s usually an indicator that they’re ready. This process typically takes around 2-3 minutes. Use a slotted spoon or strainer to scoop the cooked gnocchi out of the water.
Alfredo sauce
Our Alfredo sauce is all about cozy comfort and delightful flavors. Made with real cream, butter, a touch of garlic, and lots of Parmesan cheese, it’s pure indulgence in a sauce. Each bite is a creamy, cheesy hug for your taste buds. Perfect with any pasta you fancy, it turns your meal into a delicious experience.
INGREDIENTS YOU NEED:
- Garlic
- Butter
- Gnocchi
- Salt and pepper
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Heavy cream
- Mozzarella cheese
- Parmesan cheese
- Chili flakes
Tips for the Best Alfredo Gnocchi
1. Use fresh or high-quality store-bought gnocchi
- Fresh gnocchi has a softer, more delicate texture, but shelf-stable ones also work well.
2. Don’t overcook the gnocchi
- Gnocchi cooks in just 2-3 minutes! Once they float to the top, they’re ready. Overcooking makes them mushy.
3. Melt butter & garlic slowly
- Cooking garlic in butter over low heat brings out its sweet, rich aroma without burning it.
4. Use freshly grated Parmesan
- Pre-shredded cheese doesn’t melt as smoothly. Grate it fresh for the creamiest sauce!
5. Don’t let the sauce get too thick
- If your Alfredo sauce is too thick, add a splash of pasta water or milk to keep it smooth.
6. Toss the gnocchi gently in the sauce
- Stir carefully to avoid breaking the soft gnocchi.
Fun Variations to Try
– Add grilled chicken – A protein-packed, classic twist.
–Toss in crispy bacon or pancetta – Adds a smoky, salty crunch.
–Mix in sautéed mushrooms – Earthy and delicious!
–Stir in spinach or roasted broccoli – For a fresh, veggie boost.
–Spice it up with red pepper flakes – Adds a little heat!
–Finish with lemon zest – Brightens the flavors beautifully.
