TIPS FOR THE BEST PUMPKIN GNOCCHI
- Don’t overcook the gnocchi: Gnocchi cooks quickly—once they float to the surface, they’re ready! Overcooking can make them mushy.
- Choose a good-quality pumpkin puree: This will really enhance the flavor of the sauce. If possible, use pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling.
- Add cream or milk for extra creaminess: If you want a richer sauce, stir in a splash of heavy cream or milk toward the end.
- Season to taste: Pumpkin can be mild, so don’t forget to season the sauce well with salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg for that perfect cozy fall flavor.
- Top with cheese and herbs: A sprinkle of parmesan or pecorino adds a salty kick, and fresh sage or thyme gives it an earthy touch.
