Tres Leches Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • cups milk
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 egg room temperature
Filling
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
Tres Leches Soak
  • ½ cup evaporated milk
  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup whole milk
Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup butter softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk as needed

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, mix 2 cups flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Warm milk and butter until just warm. Add to dry ingredients.
  3. Add egg and mix well. Gradually add remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and rise 1 hour until doubled.
  6. Roll dough into a large rectangle. Spread butter, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll tightly and cut into 12 rolls. Place in a lined 9×13 pan.
  8. Cover and rise 1 hour until puffy.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes until golden.
  10. Whisk all tres leches ingredients. Pour over warm rolls. Rest 15 minutes.
  11. Beat frosting ingredients until fluffy. Spread over rolls.
  12. Serve warm and enjoy
