Steak Frites Garlic Bread

Ingredients
  

Steak
  • 1  thick-cut steak (ribeye or sirloin)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • Fresh rosemary
  • 1 tbsp butter (for searing)
  • 1 tbsp butter (for basting)
Fries
  • 2 medium potatoes cut into fries
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
Garlic Butter
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp chili flakes
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp dried parsley
Base
  • 2 slices brioche bread or soft white bread
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella or provolone optional

Method
 

Cook the Steak
  1. Season steak with salt, pepper, and rosemary. Heat butter in a hot pan and sear steak 3–4 minutes per side until medium rare. Baste with extra butter. Rest 5 minutes, then slice.
Fry the Fries
  1. Heat oil to 170°C (340°F). Fry potatoes until golden and crisp. Season with salt while hot.
Make Garlic Butter
  1. Mix softened butter with garlic, salt, pepper, chili flakes, garlic powder, and parsley.
Toast the Bread
  1. Spread garlic butter on bread, add cheese if using, and broil at 180°C (350°F) until golden and bubbly.
Assemble
  1. Top garlic bread with sliced steak, then fries. Finish with extra garlic butter if desired. Serve immediately.
