FOR THE ASSEMBLY

Instructions

FOR THE GARLIC BUTTER

  • In a small bowl, combine butter, parsley, roasted garlic, salt, black pepper, and chili flakes.

FOR THE FILLING

  • Heat 1 tbsp of butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté for 6 to 8 minutes until soft and tender, adding a splash of water as needed to help caramelize them evenly.
  • Once onions are mostly caramelized, add bell peppers and cover and let steam until the peppers soften.
  • Transfer cooked vegetables to a plate. In the same pan, melt the butter.
  • Add the steak to the pan over high heat. Season with paprika, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes until fully cooked.
  • Remove from heat. Return the peppers and onions to the pan. Toss together and set aside.

ASSEMBLY

  • Preheat oven to 180 Celsius degrees.
  • Cut the loaf in half lengthwise.
  • Generously spread garlic butter mixture over it.
  • Layer cheesesteak filling on top, then cover with cheese.
  • Place on a baking tray and bake for 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes, switch oven to broil for 3 to 6 minutes until top is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
  • Remove from oven, chop into small pieces, and serve warm. Enjoy!
