Cookie Dough
- Melt butter and let cool slightly.
- Mix butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and salt.
- Add egg and vanilla, whisk until smooth.
- Fold in flour and chocolate chips until combined.
- Refrigerate while preparing brownie batter.
Brownie Batter
- Preheat oven to 329°F (165°C).
- Melt chocolate and butter together over a double boiler until smooth.
- Whisk both sugars and eggs until thick and light.
- Sift flour, cocoa powder, and salt together.
- Stir melted chocolate mixture into egg mixture.
- Fold in dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chunks.
Assemble & Bake
- Pour half the brownie batter into a parchment-lined pan.
- Scatter cookie dough chunks on top.
- Add remaining brownie batter.
- Top with the rest of the cookie dough and chocolate chips.
- Bake 45–55 minutes, until edges are set and center is still soft and fudgy.
- Cool completely before slicing.
