APPLE PIE STUFFED FRENCH TOAST

Ingredients
  

APPLE PIE FILLING

  • 2 apple chopped
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

THE FRENCH TOAST

  • 2 slices brioche bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Powdered sugar for garnish
  • Caramel sauce for garnish
  • Whipped Cream for garnish

Instructions
 

MAKE THE APPLE PIE FILLING

  • Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add diced apples, brown sugar, spices, heavy cream and stir well.
  • Cook until the apples are tender and syrupy, about 8-10 minutes.
  • If a thicker filling is desired, mix the water and cornstarch, then add to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes.

MAKE THE FRENCH TOAST

  • In a shallow bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, spices, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook each slice for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Lay out the first slice of toast and top with some apple pie filling. Top with the other toast slice.
  • Top with some extra apple pie filling, garnish with some powdered sugar, whipped cream and caramel sauce.
