APPLE PIE FILLING
- 2 apple chopped
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
THE FRENCH TOAST
- 2 slices brioche bread
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- Powdered sugar for garnish
- Caramel sauce for garnish
- Whipped Cream for garnish
MAKE THE APPLE PIE FILLING
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Add diced apples, brown sugar, spices, heavy cream and stir well.
Cook until the apples are tender and syrupy, about 8-10 minutes.
If a thicker filling is desired, mix the water and cornstarch, then add to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes.
MAKE THE FRENCH TOAST
In a shallow bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, spices, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Cook each slice for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
Lay out the first slice of toast and top with some apple pie filling. Top with the other toast slice.
Top with some extra apple pie filling, garnish with some powdered sugar, whipped cream and caramel sauce.
